Help Needed Please: AIM Beach Pics Virus ...

Hello all,

This is my first post on this board, and I hope someone will be willing to help me. I have two younger siblings' whose computers have been infected with the pesky Beach Pics virus. Unfortunately, their big brother knows little about computers. I ask that one of you people that are smarter than I could take a look at the hijackthis log and tell me what to get rid of. Keep in mind that my brother is 14 years old, so God only knows what else might be on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Ok cg. I looked at it and it all looks ok. The process has got to be running somewhere else that for some reason it's not listed here. I recommend hitting the control+alt+delete keys and clicking on the 'processes' tab. It will give you a list of what is currently running on yoru computer (similar to what's on the file log for HijackThis). Check out this website: http://www.processlibrary.com and search any .exe file that looks suspicious. It will then give you a rundown of what the program is and if you need to get rid of it.

Also, I recommend taking a look at your startup items. Go Start->Run at the Run prompt, type in 'msconfig' (without the ' ' ). Then click on the start up tab and look at the processes that boot when windows boots. Uncheck any that look suspicious (you can search these too at the above adress). I recommend getting AdAware 6 from Lavasoft in addition to HijackThis. I'll check back. I hope this helps.

Mizzou ... thanks for the help, as soon as I get some time I'll do exactly what you recommend.

    Thanks again.
