XP SP2 question

I am running into the same error when trying to update XP. I get to a certain point in the SP2 download and get an error regarding Dataspec.xml. I've attempted twice now and get to the same point and SP2 ends up not completely loading.
Any suggestions?

    download the full sp2 onto your machine first. Don't try and install it usung the update XP function. You can download the full 200+ mb file as thats how it's installed by network admins etc... I have had numerous clients that couldnt get SP2 on using windows update but they all got it OK using this method.
