edited March 2005 in Gaming
Please excuse me for bothering your daily fourm life, but i come with a request for assistance. I am starting a new project on a MMORPG game called - Battle Royale. The time of the game is Fantasy/Medieval, but the whole game will be controled by the keyboard. Classes as Warrior, Thief, Mage, Hunter and Monk will be aveable. So, i ask this - The project needs help - programing, artists, and so on... If you think you can be helpful, then please visit the forums at -> <<link removed>> . Please, if you have the required skills, then your assistance would be greatfull....

Mod notes: Not a good way to start in a forum. Next time atleast participate a bit in a forum or something. Threads like this are considered spam by most of the community (or just me).

I don't want to give your hopes up, but it's innevitable. You will not succeed. MMO's require lots of time and investment. This includes money, and resources. So unless you have the backing of a lot of people, and the ability to pay them. You are not going to get very far.

I've seen things like this go up in smoke real fast, do something more managable, like a single player or multiplayer. Like the torque game engine, it can handle 64 easily, 128 with good coding. Even more if you have a large pipeline, plus you can release it with teh server side software so that others can run their own server.

But if you plan on building any game that requires money transactions, you're going to need lawyers and a plethora of other things. People are going to sue becuase they're unhappy, or becuase they felt ripped off, etc. I've been there, done the research, thought I could do it, but now I see what is REQUIRED and it just isn't feasible.
