hi not sure about all you need to know its an athlon xp/duron processor nvidia geforce graphic card I think all I have connected is graphic card A drive Hard Drive and cd it does the first post I have reset the cmos
just looked and on power supply it says codegen just took out graphics card its gfamx44apb does that make sense?tried boot discs they don't work just sometimes it boots but hasn't today when it booted up lat I set cmos at optimised it re-booted and has not started since
I had the motherboard and my hard ware done at fast micros, it has been fine I didn't have any problems until I put another graphics card in, since then it has played up, I have had windows back on and it worked fine until I re-booted it then this problem occured. It starts up displays graphic card and ram beeps as if it was going to boot and then just re-boots.
cheers carol
Since the problem started after you got the new video card, that's where we'll start looking.
You say that the computer often doesn't even start loading windows. This means that the problem is not a driver problem. If you feel comfortable with computer hardware, take out the video card and put it back in to the same slot...this will make sure it is making proper contact. If that doesn't solve the problem, try taking out the new video card and putting the old one back in. If it works then, you'll likely need to buy a new video card.

Your problem sounds like a hardware problem...a dying power supply/video card/(maybe) memory.
Did you build this computer, or did you buy it already built? If the former, from whom?
