Hijackthis results Please Help (Bube.e )

Desktop Background is blocked saying "spyware detected click here to remove spyware!" and its a broken link massive pop ups saying "spyware detected "

someone said to do this :

easy fix!!

your spy front communicator isn't running with your I/O process!! just open up I/O process properties, click on the spy front communicator tab, and check the box "run processes in unison"

click apply and you're fixed!

i do not know how to get to open the input output process prop.

does anyone know what to do? thank you so much -Rob btw ad aware and yahoo couldnt find it i even searched this forum for the same problem

    That is one indication of a very serious virus called Bube.e

    But we won't know for sure until we see a hijackthis log.


    We need to get a look at what's running on your computer in order to help you. Please follow the directions at this link to download a tool called Hijackthis and post a log.

    Please don't start a new thread. Just continue to reply in this one until your problem is resolved.


    Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

    Wild Tangent
    Viewpoint Manager
    Viewpoint Media Player


    Please download CWShredder but don't run it yet.

    Download Ad-aware SE from: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

    Install the program and launch it. First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files. Exit Adaware for now.


    Make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

    Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

    Reboot your computer into Safe Mode


    Now run CWShredder, making sure to click "Fix".


    Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

    C:\WINDOWS\oxtpclef.exe
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

    Run a full scan with Adaware.

    Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode.

    If there are files that can not be removed by the scans please include that information in your next post.
