reset function not working, HELP!

I recently installed the dfi lanparty ut nf3 250 gb (all other components are new). I attempted to test the reset button on my case by reseting the system (from the desktop). After pressing the reset button on my case for a second or two then releasing it, the system appears to reset - for example, the monitor resets, the hard drive resets (makes that noise you hear during a cold start) but following the hard drive reset, nothing happens. There is no system beep you commonly hear during a cold start. The monitor is black and the hard drive continues to make that reset sound. Its almost as if the motherboard doesn't reset. I tried a windows reset and it works fine.

I checked the reset plug that attaches from the case to the mobo and it appears to be attched firmly. Everything else works fine but this.

Can you help?
