Spyware problems

Thank you for reading this posting...

I have followed your instructions and loaded and ran both ADWARE and Spybot. i have also run Spysweeper...which basically makes my system stop because it does not allow the trojans to make their changes to my system...

THe highjackers and trojan are listed as "CWS_N53" and "CWS_TINY0"

I still have hijackers reaking havoc on me...

Here is the log:

Ok, lets see what we can do here!

First off, I need you to download a utility called CWShredder. You can grab it off our dl page at http://www.short-media.com/download.php?dc=69. Just save it on the desktop or anywhere with easy access.

Now I want you to make sure you have the newest version of AdAware. If you are not sure just go ahead and redownload it off the download page mentioned above. Install it on your system and update it. If you are unsure about the updating look at http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14915 for more details.

After you have those two tools ready to go, reboot your computer in safe mode. To do this: Reboot, as pc powers back up start tapping the F8 key, chose 'safe mode'. If you get the windows screen you were too slow ;) .

Anyways once you are in safe mode, go ahead and run the CWShredder. It will fix any of the CoolWeb trojans on your computer.

Then proceed to open up HJT. Remove the following entries:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\xbqxt.dll/sp.html#93256
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EB89AAF1-EFF1-7967-0CB7-89B1B757FEBB} - C:\WINDOWS\apikm.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winpw.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winpw.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [netbb32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\netbb32.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpySweeper] "C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\SpySweeper.exe" /0
    O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} (Web P2P Installer) -
    O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysjy.exe" /s (file missing)

Lastly, open up AdAware and run a full system scan. This should get rid of most of the crap left on your computer.

When you finish these steps reboot into normal mode and see how things feel. If you still experience a problem please post another log.

    Thanks and Good luck! :D

    Jared,
    Thank you for everything...

I removed all that you suggested and all traces of the trojan are gone...

    Thanks again
