Does a dual opteron fold well?

I'm asking as I picked up another dual opteron MB last week.

One of these...

I have it's big brother that had more PCI-X slots. This thing was meant to be rack mounted in a 2u case. It has built in vga and dual gigabit LAN. A server basicaly. Normally with everything built in you just use the pci-x slot for a scsi or sata controller etc...

Not real fancy but should make a good folding rig I guess? I'm scarfing for cpu's right now trying to get a cheap pair. But I might just sell it also. Not like I NEEDED another dual opteron I can almost heat my basement at this point with the five 64bit computers I already have down here. I just got a great deal on it and couldnt resist. (long sigh.... Tex MUST learn to resist!)

Anyway if you think it might make a good folder let me know if you might want to buy this thing and if you want it bare so you can pick out your own cpu's ( I buy CHEAP ONES... grin) or what? I probably have some registered pc2700 memory around here for it also but it can use registered pc2100 also.

sure does ...you just need to place the client in two seperate folders and config to machineID=1 & machineID=2 :fold:

If you do decide to sell it, that would make one hell of a SMx rig! I know I'd chip into the team fund for that.

It should fold better than a AXP, quite nicely in fact.
