This would be great for throwing some machines together. I don't think the bidding will be getting too high due to the cost of shipping. Someone living near grand rapids can pick this up? These could come out of the SMx fund so more machines can be put out there for the SMx project.

    I wonder how mant actual parts are in there. I see mostly cases and cables.

    I just got 20 "old" computers like that last week. They were horrible - mostly Pentium 75-200s with SIMMs and AT form factor. Ewww.

    The creme of the crop was an athlon 600 and two celeron 500s

    I think this could be worth keeping an eye on. If it doesn't rise too much above the starting bid it could be a worthwhile deal.

    I sent him a question regarding the form factor of the cases. If there are a number of ATX cases in there they'd come in handy for SM24-SMxx.

    The game is afoot. :ninja:

    BTW, prime: Those SIMMS could be worth something. There are places where you can sell them off for a surprisingly decent price. If you've got a 32MB module in there I'd buy one from you for my Laser printer. :)

    Assuming it turns out to be something worth buying, that would be wonderful. :D

    If you could get the stuff as far as prime's house I would pick it up from there. I've been meaning to go see <s>Snuffie</s> him for a while anyway. :cool:

    really depends on the time. If it's anytime now, i won't be able too, cause i'm in ann arbor right now.

    after school is out for summer, i will be leaving right away to china. Got the tickets for april 29th already.

    Leishi, since you live the closest, can you go check out the potential with those parts? 7 and a half hours still left on the bid. Think it's possible?

    i don't think that will be possible, since i'm going to school in ann arbor right now, so that's 2 hour drive, and i don't have a car here.
    ahh, life isn't fair. :(

    Sorry I didn't update you guys on this. I must be getting old... :scratch:

    I've been swapping emails with a guy named Mead at trtradersinc all day. My main question was concerning the form factor of the cases. Along with whatever else was salvageable, I figured if there were 8-10 ATX cases in there it might be worth a bid - we plan to have a lot of new SMx rigs soon. ;)

    Since most of the ones visible on the pallet appear at be AT desktops and my new best friend Mead had some difficulty discerning between the two (despite all my efforts to edumacate him), I am not too disappointed that it didn't work out.

    This is a great idea, KingFish. If you have any tips on what to search for I'll try and keep an eye on ebay along with you. :thumbsup:

    I've been trolling ebay for more deals like this. I've come across a few things but nothing yet quite worthy of a mention in here.
