PCI Controller

edited March 2005 in Hardware
Any recommendations for a brand of PCI Controller card.
I am running XP Home Edition - SP2.

I need to get one to be able to utilize / recognize a new
Seagate 200 Gigabyte hard drive...

My BIOS has an upper limit of 137 Gigabytes...

Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm assuming it's a PATA drive? Any Highpoint (HPT) or Promise comtroller will do. For SATA grab a Promise or Silicon Image based controller.

Can you update the BIOS on your motherboard?

If you are looking for a SATA card I would recommend the LinkDepot card for $21.99 from NewEgg. It has the Silicon Image 3112A chip and supports two SATA devices.
