How can I make changes in 5.02?

I've got an Abit BP6 with 2 533 Celerons running at 600 Mhz. I just upgraded the RAM from 256 MB to 640 MB.

I have NEVER gotten a work unit on the BP6 that was larger than 47 points in over 2 months.

I'm running 2 instances of the 5.02 console version in this computer.

How can I go into it and change the specs to allow large work units? I guess I could delete the 2 folding 5.02 files and reload them, but I'd prefer to just change them as is if possible.

I know it'll take a while for the Celerons to fold a large work unit, but that's better than having to unhook my ethernet line and the monitor, mouse, and keyboard from my main system every 2 days.

I also have a 1 GB paging file set up on its hard drive.

    Stop your client.

Make a new shortcut to the FAH502console.exe files.

    Right Click the shortcut.

    Go to Properties.

On the target line there will be the path the exe resides in, something like this:
    "C:\Program Files\FAH\FAH502-Console.exe"

It might be in double quotes or with no quotes.

Add '-configonly' after the directory w/o the single quotes.

This will go thru the initial setup again but not run the program.

Now when answering the questions, say yes to advanced options and then there will be a question asking about large WUs. Restart your client via your normal shortcut or by service. Next time it needs a new WU it will be available to receive one from Stanford. It doesnt mean you will get one tho. It just means the computer is setup to receive them.

It would also be a good idea to start the clients up with the -advmethods flag as well. Stanford changes what goes out to people with advmethods all the time. Sometimes its gromacs, sometimes its tinkers.
