edited March 2005 in Hardware
Hi,
I formatted my h.d and after installing the O.S the computer doesnt recognize the entire memory as it recognized before i formatted.
I tried to change the slot with no success.
details: pentium 2 400 bios: award modular v 4.51pg
motherboard: ARISTO AM 639BX-S
O.S WIN98 SE
MEMORY: SDRM 128 (in one chip) pci 133
Thanks,
Yosi

doesnt recognize the entire memory ?? The memory is the 128mb sdram. Which has nothing to do with a "format" which effects the hard disk and you didn't even mention any details of the hard disk at all. I think your a tiny bit confused but we would be glad to help if you are more clear?

    Hi,
the h.d is seagate 10 gigabyte.
The computer identifies the 128 sdram memory as 64 (as seen in my computer\properties)
I know that the format action isnt suppose to effect the memory thats why i am puzzeled.
What i dont know is whethere the bios version is effected by the format.
I was thinking that maybe i had an updated version of the bios that was erased by the format action.
    Thanks,
    Yosi

no the bios is not updated with a format. You might try reseating the stick of sdram in its slot but it sounds more likely the memory is failing. Thats fairly common on generic sdram thats several years old.
