WoW server downtime... What do you think?

My brother and a friend are waiting somewhat patiently for the servers to come back online, but another friend thinks it's total bull****. He's sick of waiting and says he's not getting what he payed for. Explaining the fact that this is the biggest MMORPG to date since EQ doesn't faze him. I'm taking the "It'll get worse before it gets better" attitude, but it does kinda suck.

They're lowering the popuation caps on some of the higher population servers. My particular server (Medivh) hasn't been up yet for me to see this myself, but I can't even waste my time making a temporary character on a server that is up because of it. The queue was pretty long and I didn't feel like waiting it out.

What do you guys think?

    I've seen and endured worse. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, and I refuse to be another whiny little forum bitch who gripes about how much Blizzard sux teh big one!11 I have other things to do than <i>wait for an effing server to come online for 15 hours</i>.

    Yeah. I'm with Thrax. If it bothered me enough, I'd just cancel my account and move on. Right now, my main server (Destromath), which I just moved to from Mannoroth, is queueing at about 380 people. I'm in no mood to wait, and I understand they're doing maintenance. I've already achieved quite a bit of enjoyment out of this month, so I'm happy. It gives me a chance to do something else. :)

    Sorry, my brother edited my post. I left my computer to get something out of the oven and he took over.

    I also agree. My friend is playing right now, and we didn't have to wait in a queue. It was probably a lot worse yesterday because a lot of servers were down. They said something about rest experience that I didn't quite get, though. What are they doing, just giving us lots of rest exp?

    That's what I was wondering. They said something like "full rest XP." What is that? A few bubble's worth? A entire level's worth? The funny part is that they have to take each realm down for another 3 hours to do it. I appreciate the gesture, but just leave it be, Blizzard. Haha. :)

    Full rest EXP is 1.5 levels' worth of 200%.
    You're also being credited for 2 days' worth of play time, e.g., (your monthly fee/30.5) = money off your bill for the month.

    Heck, if you play as sporacdically as I play, this really doesn't bother you too much. Medivh has always been pretty good to me and I've never sat in line or anything, and the server has rarely been down for me. Heck, I ALWAYS have full rest exp every time I play, I haven't seen purple on my EXP bar in a loooong time (It is purple right?)

    Anyways, I understand that this is a huge undertaking by Blizzard and it doesn't bother me too much that they have to keep working on the servers. People complain that Blizzard doesn't do enough, but they obviously are working their collective asses off to get this thing up and running smoothly.

    I can see some server maintenance but every Tuesday. And the thing is they break it every week after maintenance. Every patch the mess something else up as well. Thats one of the things that get on my nerves.
