    razorbackmama,

    Please do the following;

    ===============

    Go to www.trendmicro.com, and then:

    1. Click "Free Online Scan".
    2. Click "Scan now, it's free".

    It'll take a few minutes to download (especially with a dialup connection), so be patient. When it's down:

    1. Select all available drives.
    2. Check(tick) "Auto Clean".
    3. Click "Scan".

    When it completes, post back the full filename of any files that cannot be cleaned or deleted.

    ===============

    Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

    180 Solutions

    The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

    ===============

    Run HiJackThis then:

    1. Click "Config..."
    2. Click "Misc Tools"
    3. Click "Open Process manager"

    -

    Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\CXTPLS\CXTPLS.EXE

    Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

    ===============

    Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {016235BE-59D4-4CEB-ADD5-E2378282A1D9} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\CXTPLS\PLG0\CXTPLS.DLL

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoUpdater] "c:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ZEt6RWj7U] CLRAPP.EXE

    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/0683118...ip/RdxIE601.cab

    Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

    ===============

    Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

    folders...

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\CXTPLS
    c:\program files\180solutions
    c:\Program Files\AutoUpdate

    Search for...

    CLRAPP.EXE

    ...using "Start | Search...".

    -

    Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in "Safe Mode".

    -

    Reboot.

    ===============

    To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:

    Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:

    1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
    2) Next, "Enable all protection".
    3) Exit the program.

    -

    Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.

    ===============

    After rebooting your PC post back a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

    -

    Thanks so much for your help!

    When I ran the trendmicro scan, these are the files it couldn't delete:

    C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\SF2LB400.0
    C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\SYSNIFY.0
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\clrapp.exe

    (But I was able to delete the clrapp.exe manually like you instructed.)

    A2I, I wasn't able to find the Webroot Spy Sweeper from the URL you provided???

    Thanks A2I. Did that, got rid of a boatload of stuff. Adaware ran fine, but now Spybot won't even load. It says that the parameters are incorrect when it tries to load. It was the one giving me problems earlier - it would lock up my computer when I tried to delete the files. Do I need to reinstall Spybot?

    Do ya'll need for me to run HJT again and post the log?

    Ya'll ROCK, BTW! :D

    Do I need to reinstall Spybot?

    Thats up to you its like parking a car, you can move forwards and backwards untill it fits right.

    I dont need exactly a hijackthislog

    what you can try for yourself http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/index.html

    see if you can scan any scumfiles.

    Dont quarantine just jet, before you do Export the logfile and copy paste the oneliner you think is scum in this post.

    People will know if its valid or grayware related.

    So dont doze with that program it can if used wrong let your winMe not start anymore.

    just Check and double check 4example by asking here if its safe to remove and not system related.

    ty.

    Thanks again A2I. I will try to reinstall Spybot. Ran Security Task Manager, and nothing looked odd. Well, except that several of the processes were named HijackThis on there, but then the title and description were what they are really named. For example:

    HijackThis 1.99.1 14% 4294693817 6.1 MB C:\WINDOWS\SM56HLPR.EXE Program when Windows starts, Registry: Machine\Run SM56 Modem Win32 Utility - OleMainThreadWndName Motorola Inc. : Motorola SM56 Modem

    HijackThis 1.99.1 13% 4294690309 1.8 MB C:\WINDOWS\TASKMON.EXE Program when Windows starts, Registry: Machine\Run Task Monitor Microsoft Corporation : Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Millennium Operating System

    Does this mean I might actually be clean now??? :eek:

    Its possible you need to shutdown hijackthis b4 you scan or simple press the windows processes buttons in STM again.

    The odd items should be seen pretty obvious, they are normally seen in top10 listings of your System Processes Running or Inactive and if it isnt truely loaded with loads of nonsence valid programm's aswel which is ur own choice ofcourse ;D .

    If not, dont bother to much with the STM program since it pretty powerfull in use.

    And could end your OS system with 1 wrong removed item :wtf: .

    take care.
