Hey guyz (n gals?) .... just wanted to write to say I have just passed my first milestone this morning. The stats site doesn't as yet show my correct stats, although the one from my folding client does. I'll paste them here so you can see. ;D

Donator Mancunian
Team Team Short-Media (93)
Score 1202 (certificate)
Donator Rank 140928 of 444059
WU 5 (certificate)

It's now 10.22am as I write and the F@H site stats page last refreshed around 8am so hopefully by the time you guys read this, that will have caught up. ;D

Anyway wanted to post this as I'm dead chuffed. :)

It's the 310 pointer that brought you over the line big time for your first (of many, i'm sure) milestone.

Congrats and well done, Nick.

    Way to F:fold:LD.

Hi Dragon. Thanks a lot my friend. Really appreciate your kind words of encouragement and praise. You're right about that 310 pointer of course but seems it also completed a VERY fast WU in the meantime as I was previously on 3 WUs and the 4th was due to end around 7.30am -ish time this morning but when I looked around 9am, it was 5! ... so no idea what that other WU was or why it completed so quickly or how much it was worth but never mind, I'm not complaining. :D

And yes, hopefully the first of many milestones I hope. As you may see in other threads, I'm considering multi-tasking the GUI version with a client one, or whatever it's called, but waiting for the more experienced and techie-minded folk to let me have their insight before I change anything. Hopefully that might increase things even more. :)

Take care and talk to you again soon I hope, Dragon. Once again thanks a lot.

    Cheers
    Nick (Mancunian)

Glad to see the stats have now been updated at F@H so was able to see the right certificate and my sig updated. Looks cool now I've got 5 WUs and 1200 points! :D

I saved the cert as a .jpg hoping to post it here to show you all but doesn't seem I can so I'll be patient and wait for the 'official' one instead. Besides, it looks better IMHO! ;D

As always many thanks for your kind words of encouragement and support guys. Can't tell you what it means to me. Never known a project like it for doing something worthwhile with my computer AND making so many genuine friendships here at the same time. For someone like me living alone (yeah sad I know lol) it means a lot so thank you one and all.

Just out of curiousity, when do I get my *official* 1k certificate? I saw one posted somewhere else and they look MUCH cooler than the ones the client gives, although they're pretty good too. :)

Don't tell me you've forgotten guys? :bawling: :D

You've got to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Milestone Central in posting a new milestone. That's exactly what you did. :D
(It doesn't hurt being five time zones to the east of me, either. :p ) :ukflag:

Sometimes I'm late to the party, but once I get there I usually hang out 'til <s>the keg is dry</s> it's time to go. I like to bring along a little something for the guest of honor, too.

Congrats on a great job, Mancunian - your Folding career is off to a fantastic start!

Hi Prof. Get up pretty early in the morning my friend? You're rather assuming I actually go to bed, aren't you?! ;D

But thanks for the short-media certificate. Really appreciate that and sorry if I sounded a little premature but having seen the 1k and 5k ones so far, they look SO COOL ... I don't know who designed/made them but great job. It's nice to have the 'official' ones from F@H/Vijay Pande but the team ones are SO much nicer IMHO! :woowoo:

Anyway thanks, Prof, for the kind words. Really appreciate it. Also Csimon and PrimeSuspect. Thanks guys.

    Ain't that the truth.

The nifty 1,000-point "First Cog" award was designed by our teammate mondi. The 5,000-point Bart Williams Award trophy is the fine handiwork of the good General Keebler. There are even more goodies to come with subsequent milestones, though it's hard to say that any of them top the two I've mentioned. :)

Mancunian... So far, you have been the most active new comer in a very long time. If there was an award to hand out for greatest entrance into our team, you'd have it. Thanks!!! Keep up the hype and we'll keep hyping you!!!!

Hi Prof. Yes, it most cerainly IS the truth. Mind you, your artwork has REALLY impressed me too, I have to say. I love your pic of Australia with the jumping kangaroo for example and the 50k whirling cogs, for example. I'm totally USELESS at anything artistic like that but I do appreciate the end result when I see it and I know what's good and what's not. :)

Yes the 1k and 5k ones in particular I liked but having seen the plaque this morning for the 450k, that impressed me too, although not quite as much if I'm totally honest, which I usually try to be. Saw someone had drawn a great green pickle earlier too. Think that was YOUR handiwork wasn't it, Prof? If so how about some more sometime? We could have a different fruit or vegatable for each level too, maybe for WU milestones? What do you think?;D

And incidently, not seen any others yet but I assume they'll make an appearance at the appropriate time(s) huh? :)

Hehe thanks a lot, Q. Yeah, I do tend to get quite hyper sometimes when I'm enjoying myself and find something to get my teeth into like I have here. I've accepted that whilst I'm undoubtedly doing something useful and worthwhile, I'm NEVER going to be in the hunt for the really BIG milestones only running one machine and being unemployed don't really have much of a chance that's ever going to change significantly so I suppose I want to do the next best thing and try to encourage and support others as they have and continue to support ME. Not only that I'm waiting for the little thing under my name to change to something important sounding like forum champion poster or forum supreme supporter or something as the next best thing. :type: :woowoo:

[shhh! Don't tell anyone else Q, but if the truth's known, I lead a single, lonely sad life all on my ownio and I guess I've nothing better to do - well I do but watching telly 24/7 isn't all it's cracked up to be after a while - but don't tell anyone else or they'll start to think I actually enjoy it here talking to people and stuff.] :hiding::D

All done by others or swiped from elsewhere, except the HalfCog pickle, which I merely slapped a few cogs onto.

You can get an idea by checking out the 100K Milestone Award contest we had about a year ago.

The only one I've created is the 25K Folding Star. There are a few goofy personalized milestones I've done scattered around the forum as well. :)
