Linux install

HI,

I have installed two operating system linux and 98, now suppose i format 98 but i will not format linux drive, now when i again install 98 how can i rescue my linux back?

Please tell me??

    Depending on your hardware situation (1 HD or 2 HD), you likely have two partitions on a hard drive, on for the linux install, one for '98. You should be able to tell whatever program you use to format to just format the 98 install.

    The only trouble you may run into is that the new 98 install may stop your bootloader (GRUB, LILO) from loading, and just load 98. That can be fixed via a re-install of your bootloader though :)

    Hello,

    You will need to boot into a linux enviroment and run either grub-install or lilo. Telling us what distro you are using would help, I'm not going to type out the steps for all of them ;)

    In short, you boot from a CD, enter into your linux enviroment, and use the local tools to rewrite the MBR. The only time it gets tricky might be some grub installs on a raided system.

    You might want to spend some time on Google, this is documented very well. Try something like
