Microsoft is gearing up for the next release of its Exchange e-mail server software, currently called named Exchange 12, in 2006.
Previous indications from MS were that it the new version would be released in either 2006 or 2007.

Additions to the software are expected to include the ability to handle voicemail and faxes. Under the hood, the program will be able to handle 64-bit extensions and dual-core chips.

The planned release date was introduced by Andy Lees, Microsoft VP of marketing for server and tools, at a presentation in San Francisco earlier this week.
