short-media.com, home to the SMx Project, is proud to announce the revival of the effort to send out computers that are dedicated to Stanford University's Folding@Home Project.
The SMx Project is an effort to create dedicated Folding@Home machines through cash and part donations to Team Short-Media. Computers are assembled using these donations and hosted by a team member with the expectation the host care for it and have it run nothing but Folding@Home 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The first computer went online January, 2002.
The newest SMx machine, SM24, has just been announced. Signups begin today!
For this and all forseeable future SMx machines, the team has decided to allow ALL team 93 members be eligible for signup. The SMx project had formerly been limited to the United States and Canada due to shipping costs. However, to reflect the global nature of the site and the team, the project has been expanded to cover the globe.
