Windows wont load

I tried this morning to log onto my computer and it came up the the error message

Some system files are missing or damaged. You cannot log on at this time. Please use your installation cd to reinstall or repair windows. Error code 0x80040507

Now i can log on in safe mode but not in any other mode. I've tried repairing through safe mode by using previous configurations, but its still not working. Should i reinstall windows or is there another way?

    Boot from the cd. Skip recovery console and continue as if you are just installing XP. Right before you get to choose what partition/Disk to install to it looks for previous XP installs. If the filesystem isnt corrupted it will find the previous install and ask if you want to repair it. Say heck yes. It keeps all your documents and programs etc..

    This is called a "repair" installation.
