A few months ago I read that one of the "Critical Windows Updates", no. 811493, would cause a drop in performance for Windows XP systems once installed.
Is this still the case? Have I got the update number wrong?
I think that's the correct update yes! However it isn't a problem anymore. If I'm not mistaken Microsoft released a revised version of that update which no longer causes people problems. You and everyone else are now safe to install it.
