Your Firefox bookmarks are in your Firefox profile directory.

    x:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Where x:\ is the drive letter of your slave HDD and USERNAME is the username that you were using to log on to the dead PC.

There will be another directory in profiles. Go into that directory and you should find bookmarks.html.

If you want to back up your extensions, then just backup your Firefox profile directory.

Your bookmarks can also be exported through "Manage Bookmarks" in the Bookmarks menu. Then when the bookmark manager window pops up, click File --> Export (You then save them as one big html file). The same can be used to Import bookmarks (such as the previous bookmark html file you exported).
