ICANN approves .travel and .jobs

These two registries applied for in December 2003 have been approved. They join 6 other sponsored top-level domains, 8 generic ones, and various country extensions. Applications for .cat, .post and .mobi have yet to be approved.
"We anticipate enormous interest and participation by both the global travel and tourism industry and consumers in .travel," he said in a statement. "The .travel domain will strengthen consumer confidence in their travel purchases and provide a new, distinct, distribution channel for travel suppliers and sellers who cater to the traveling consumer."
I still think sponsored TLDs are silly.

    Yeah, wow... Two more TLDs for spammers to use to sign up nonsense names at for their garbage search engine sites and all that :rolleyes:

    I hate TLDs that are longer than 3 letters.

    .travel = .tvl
    .jobs = .jbs
    .mobi = .mbl
    .info = .nfo
