I need help, My AIM doesn't work and I have search extender on my computer

I 've been surfing the net to try and fix my AIM to work and came upon this site and someone helped someone remove search extender from their computer to help get his AIM to work.

I'm not too computer literate and need help

I recently bought McAffe Security Center 7.0 and installed it, seems like it removed several virus's or trojans on my pc. But I haven't been able to register it due to a scripting error.
