Linksys WMP54G (802.11g wireless pci card) issues
OK, for some odd reason my network went down. Don't know why. Happened while I was away at work.
So I come home and my brother tells me that the network went down, so I reconfigured the router and decided to go from a 64-bit WEP to 128-bit with 26 hexadecimal keys.
Now I had to get to the task of reconfiguring all the other computers in the house that have a wireless card.
Brother's computer: right clicked on properties on his wireless connection icon in the systray, punched in the new hexadecimal key, bam, he's back (albeit he stole my ipaddress somehow but oh well, ip done automatically by the DHCP). He's using a Linksys WUSB54G (USB wireless adapter)
Dad's computer: same as above, he also got a new ip address configured by the DHCP. (Motorola PCI wireless 802.11g card, unsure of model).
Family computer: WTF. I put in a new code and NOTHING. Nada. I put in a key different from the others and nothing. The ip address is not configured by the DHCP (router) so it can't receive any signals. (this one has the Linksys WMP54G card in subject line).
I noticed that my brother and my dad's windows wireless networking asked for the key and asked you to repeat it. The family one doesn't...why? And WTF could be wrong? Am I missing some sort of protocol?
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers on the WMP54G and that hasn't helped.

Crud, how am I going to update the thing w/out internet access?
Still nothing. The status showed it's not connected, but the option to CONNECT has been replaced by DISCONNECT.
EDIT: Actually, now it's saying acquiring network address (and has been for some time too).
Fly, try this website, lots of good Linksys equipment info

Apparantly, my network does not like 128-bit WEP. So I switched back to 64-bit WEP and things are working fine.
I don't know the exact reason, but things are back up and working so I'm not going to complain. The only thing I can think of is that the Linksys NIC may not be able to handle 128-bit WEP for whatever reason. Highly unlikely.
i'm also trying to get the WMP54G V4.1 to run on 7 Ulitmate 64-bit. Actually it's a bit strange here since the ralink drivers (RT61 Wireless Card V2) DID work in matters of getting the device started. but even after rebooting multiple times, it will still NOT let me establish any connection. says there are no connections available, when i let the windows networks diagnosis thingy run, it tells me there are problems with the installed driver for the wireless adapter, although according to the devices manager, the device works perfectly! i'm REALLY confused here. any suggestions on how to fix this ? and maybe worth mentioning, it was a TOTALLY fresh installation of 7, so there were no other drivers involved before!
