wrong cpu temps?

edited April 2005 in Hardware
I have been running my 3500+ 90nm processor for about a week now and I always have mbm5 running and have noticed that when idle my cpu temp displays as 21-23 degrees Celsius and at load its usually between 33-35 degrees Celsius. This seems kinda low to me mainly because my AthlonXP idle temp was about 31(different cooling setup though).
The system is regular air cooling: smart case fan II, xp-90, arctic silver 5 inside an ATC-201. Im using mbm5 settings that I downloaded so it could work on my m/b, a dfi ultra-d.
So are these temps wrong or is these the type of temps I should expect from my cpu? thanks.

The temps are correct. Welcome to a 67w thermal envelope.

Yeah, I've been really surprized at how cool my 2 A64 systems run too. My Winnie system runs in the low 30's at a little over 2450 MHz folding and my Clawhammer mobile 3000+ runs at around 10 C over the board temp folding, presently at 2655 MHz. That Clawhammer is a real jewel; I haven't found it's max overclock yet. :D:thumbsup:

Yep, very cool chips! (no pun intended) :D

My 3500+ Winnie is currently clocked at over 2.6GHz (1.42 volts roughly), and at full load I am only hitting 36 degrees or so. Idle is literally just a degree or two over ambient. The temps do increase pretty quickly when you exceed 1.55 volts though. At stock voltage they are phenominal. With stock clocks (2.2GHz) I can prime stable as low as 1.1volts, temps were very low
