Download: Mozilla 1.7.7 (11.4MB) - Release Notes
As previously reported, these latest releases went through several iterations of fixes, some of which disabled or broke some extensions. The Mozilla Foundation has been working with extension authors to fix any issues that have surfaced with the releases, and most extensions have been updated, or will be in the coming days, to work with 1.0.3/1.7.7.

Do I have to uninstall FF1.0.2 before I install 1.0.3?

No, on my 1.0.2 Firefox there is a red arrow at the top right of the browser window. Click on it and it checks for updates and let's you install any updates. I just updated mine this morning and no problems with 1.0.3 Firefox so far.

Strangely (like before) it still doesn't find updates even when triggered manually, and I'm on FF1.0.2... Very strange?
