spyware claims i have Trojan-spy.html.smitfraud.c

Well this happened to me and at first i was scared. I uninstalled some program that magically appeared on my program list and that fixed magic popups and shortcuts from appearing. I got rid of Internet optimizer. But i couldnt change the background picture from being that blue screen and my display properties menu only has settings and screensaver.
Before I had tried opening internet explorer and main sites like yahoo or msn would come up with the word "soon..". I used CWShredder and got rid of the thing causing that. I looked at this forum and saw the same problem with multiple people. So i downloaded hijack this and now i'm going to run it and post the log here:

First you will need to open all files and folders. Instructions on how to do this can be found here. http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14915

Please post a new log when finished.

alrite...i think i fixed it....but i'm dumb and doubleclicked//yes'ed a file on my C: called original registry thinking someone else had saved my registry for me aaaand.....no i think it was the registry from when i had windows on the C: drive...before i got a bigger G: drive. now when i try to log in i can only log in in windows safe mode with command prompt...not safe mode.... not safe mode with networking. What happens is an error comes up upon logging in that says windows is having trouble verifying my Windows license error 0x80004005....and i'm quite sure it's because i made the registry look at C: as my main drive again. G: was also changed to E: and the registry has things pointing to both as where files are....
I'm thinking i need to run repair from an XP disc or just reinstall the thing. Your opinion plz.

In your case where you can't boot up, I would repost this problem in the Emergency forum and let the experts there advise you.
