what new hardware?

Hi how are you?
There's something strange happening here...
Every time I start up my pc, appears this two window message: (I'm sending the screen shot, but it is in portuguese, so I'll try to translate it)

"WELCOME TO THE NEW HARDWARE ADD ASSISTANT.
Windows will search for actual and updated software in your computer, in the hardware instalation cd or in windows update site ( with your permition).
Can windows connect to windows update site to look for software?
*yes, just this time
*yes, and everytime I do connect to a device
*no, not now"

and the little window says:
"The requested control is not valid to this service"

And theres this icon that appears in the down right corner while messages are poped up (see the image).

I've searched for this occurance in google and seems that it is something about usb...but I'm not sure about what it is, why it happens and what to do.

Would you help me again?
Thanks guys...see ya
Adrianoc.

We need to get a look at what's running on your computer in order to help you. Please follow the directions at this link to download a tool called Hijackthis and post a log.

That's a clean log. I don't think your problem is related to malware.
