Identifying a motherboard

What's the best way I can get someone to identify their motherboard without opening up their case? Only thing I can think of is SiSoft Sandra. A lighter-weight program with an easier setup would be preferable, though.

I think the board will be an Asus board. So if Asus makes an identification utility, that would be worth a try (I didn't find such a program, though).

I'm planning on getting someone one of those big Zalman 92mm HSF for their birthday, since she is always complaining about how loud her computer is, but I need to make sure her motherboard will be compatible.

Thanks!

Have them run the Belarc Advisor. :)

I have like seven of those zalmans but I would really recomend opening the case even if you know what motherboard it is to make certain that big sucker will clear all the componets and agp slot etc...

Thanks prof, that Belarc program worked nicely

I think I'll bring my SLK-800 as a backup, in case the Zalman doesn't fit. Worst case scenario, I've got a new Zalman for the livingroom computer :D
