3D Benchmarking - WinXP or 2K faster?
I'm creating a second Windows installation for benchmarking and gaming purposes because I have so many background tasks running all the time that it slows down and interrupts my gaming/benching all the time.
Now, whether I use 2K or XP, I'm going to be running the OS pretty much on the bare minimals, just drivers + basic 2K style interface + speed tweaks, nothing else special. Will Windows2K or WindowsXP Pro give me faster gaming/benching?

Same drivers, same install order, same components. Same everything.
I won't be going back to XP.
But honestly, most people throw enough horsepower behind there systems that it doesn't really matter. Only thing to gain is benchmark numbers.
and the MYTH that xp is better for gaming is just that..
2000 actually has a far more efficent 3d subsystem, better than xp's.
You will almost always get higher 3dmarks with 2000 vs xp (if configured properly software and hardware wise)
XP = BLOAT
tek
I'll post benchmarks later, to show the difference between OS's.
edit: here's the benchmarks
WindowsXP Pro
3DMark03: 1760
3DMark01: 13828
Windows2K Pro
3DMark03: 1868
3DMark01: 13816
