I built a system for a pal and loaded it with WIN 98. He then loaded LINUX on it. They run in tandem, that is at boot up he gets a menu to select which op sys he wants to boot up in. Try loading LINUX. If successful, get the data off. Then get the disk manufacturers tool kit. Do a low level re-format (this writes the disk full of zeros). Then do a full windows installation. You might benefit from also putting LINUX back on it. Then put your data back on and you are home.

Try installing LINUX on the disk. If you install LINUX on a windows sisk, you get a boot up menu to choose which op sys to boot up with. Run LINUX, get the data off, then get the disk manufacturers tool kit. Do a low level format (writes the disk full of zeros), then install windows. Might be a good idea to put LINUX back on it too. Then put the data back and you are home.
