need help removing about:blank trojan / downloader.agent.11.q

Please please help me. My AVG repeatedly tells me that it is catching the downloader.agent.11 virus everytime a new IE window is opened, and the viruse always has a new name, and deleting them does nothing. also, links to adult web sites have been added to my favorites list, and my start-up page is repeatedly changed to about:blank. i've tried running cshredder, aboutbust, AVG, pandasoft, etc, but nothing has fixed the problem. please please help me rid my system of this thing. here is my HJT log:

    Download Ad-aware SE 1.05 from: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
    Install the program and launch it. First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files. Exit Adaware for now.


    Make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

    Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

    Reboot your computer into Safe Mode


    Now run CWShredder, making sure to click "Fix".


    Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\apijp.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mgokh.dll


    Run a full scan with Adaware.

    Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode.



    Please run at least two of these online scans.
    Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

    There will be files that these scans will not remove. Please include that information in your next post.


    Reboot and post a new hijackthis log.

    thanks! i did what you said and i don't get that about:blank thing. but now my windows XP looks different...after i went into safe mode, it set my winXP appearance to classic. now when i right click the desktop, select properties, and then click on the appearance tab, there is no option for windows XP under the "windows and buttons" menu. here is my new HJT log:

    This infection can sometimes delete your shell.dll file.

    If you are using XP,2000, or NT please download shell.dll from here:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/shellxp.php
    Once the file is downloaded uncompress the zip file and copy shell.dll to the following locations (%windir% being the windows or winnt directory):

    C:\WINDOWS\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\System


    Reboot and see if you can restore your xp desktop.
