I thought they would be showing up by now. Or did AMD do one of their old paper launches? It makes me wonder just how long it will take for the San Diego cores I'm waiting for to appear. I'm having a hard time resisting the XP3500 "Clawhammers" in the mean time.

Monarch has OEM's for pre-order and they should be shipping by the end of the week
They were supposed to shipped last Friday but according to rumors AMD's distributors delayed the shipment for another week

I ordered a 4000+ SD even though the 3700+ SD is a better buy but it won't be available until May.

Okay, I'm confused, what's the difference between the two 3500+ chips shown in that table? One is shown as E3, one as E4 but both have 512Kb of L2 cache.... and I thought some of the venice chips are s754?

    Thanks EQ!

Now to decide If I want to get a 4000+ SD next week or wait a few more for a 3700+ SD.

The 3500+ (BN) E4 is a San Diego core with cripple cache, probably a 3700+ that didn't make the cut.
Venice and San Diego come in 939 flavor only.

So other than the San Diego having double the L2 cache is there any other differences between that and the Venice?

But this looks even more tempting. Especially considering that it is by far the best price point value!!!

    AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E (ADA3700DAA5BN) (939)

So forget about Venice when you can have San Diego.

I may need to start a new thread tomorrow or next week to build an ultimate workstation utilizing that part with realizm800 or maybe even a future quadro sli. Something that can handle moving ultra high res geological sat images ...in 3d.

The 3200+ seems to be quite impressive with the overclocks. I'm reading about the 700mz increase to 2.7gz. Quite impressive since the 3000+ isn't doing that and that seems to be tops for the 3500+ as well. Seems that the 3200+ may be the best buy for now.
