Splitting a VCD

I'm using NERO 5.5.9.2 with my Lite-On CD-RW drive..

I have a MPEG-3 Movie I am trying to burn to CD as a Video CD. However the movie ends up being too large, I am wandering if there is a way I can split the movie through a couple CD's so that I can burn it. Took an Hour to encode only to find out it wouldn't even burn what it could.

    Yeah use TMPGEnc.

Had a link to dvdrhelp.com but the site is down. If it goes back up go there for the best guide on how to burn, split, and encode movies.

Still waiting on Thrax for his version.

    VCDs are MPEG1.

Take the entire VCD and use a program called MyFlix to split it up into multiple sections. Remember that it's about 45 minutes to a CD if you have a good quality (oxymoron) VCD, so split accordingly. :)

Does Nero save the new encoded video file so that it can be accessed later? If not then he only has the original movie file.

Depends on the settings he used.

    Nero sucks for VCD anyways.

If Loki DOESN'T have the video on hand, he'll have to run it through TMPGEnc, use 2 pass VBR. Etc.

I have a tutorial on making VCDs of DiVX/XViD and DVD coming soon.

Hrm, it didn't save for me, I had my settings changed to save files that it made, like for my CD's, but I guess that was only for making normal CD's.

I'll check into your idea thrax, thanks, I'll get back to you guys on this when I have more time, I got tired last night :P
