Getting rid of the XP Home start screen?

Recently, my XP Home main system started displaying the login screen when I turn the computer on or come back to it after 10 minutes or more. It's the blue screen that shows the user names and the little picture. And you have to click on your user name to enter to the desktop screen.

And it'll say how many programs are running.

It started doing this after a recent virus / spyware removal proceedure, I'm not sure what got changed.

But I've never liked it and didn't have it coming up on my computers for years, so I want it to go away. How do I do this?

When I start the computer or come back to it after the screensaver has had time to kick in, I want it to go straight to the desktop like it always used to.

Check your screensaver configuration in the Display control panel; there should be a checkbox for "On resume, display Welcome screen". Clear that checkbox and see if the problem goes away.

Thanks, that seems to have fixed it.
