Could This Be A Problem With My Motherboard - LRAND - ECS

edited May 2005 in Hardware
I have a ECS PC with 1 gig of RAM - Windows XP SP2.

Randomly it bluescreens - with no particular reason - I have rebuilt - got new drivers etc etc.

More recently I have run the Windows RAM Test On Boot and this gives LRAND ERRORS on both my modules.

I have swapped the RAM with loads of different RAM and I still get LRAND errors and my PC still frequently blue screens.

Could this be a problem with my mother board?

What is a LRAND test-

Does it matter if it fails - are these likely to be related

Please help I have got ***** off girlfriend who is moaning at me as I have not been off the PC since these problems have started to occur.

Thanks

Steve :)

My first impression is that the motherboard may be bad. ECS is known for producing lemons at a pretty high rate.

If you can do so (for free), I'd try to get an identical replacement from your vendor or from ECS, on the chance that another one wouldn't have the problem. Or better yet, get a refund and buy a board from a more reliable company.

I'm not sure what an LRAND test is, but a more commonly used memory test is memtest86, if you'd like a second opinion from a different test.
