I'm building a new rig, and trying to decide on a new processor, I just do little gaming like hl2, cs/css, and a little deathmatch. I'm building a budget machine and am wonding which would be faster, semprons or celerons?

    Clock for clock, probably the sempron, especially the socket 754 variety. As for value, the sempron is more oomph for the price.

    Definitely sempron. If your willing to overclock, the various models of the semprons do very well. Personally I can only vouch for a socket A variety .. but I hope to get a 754 soon.

    does the fact that they have 256 cache matter? I'll have a gig of pc-3200

    Would an xp barton be much better?

    3rd ?
    Or would a socket 754 be better like a 2600 or 2800 they're only 1.6GHz tho
