Home Search Woes

Hello--

I'm stuck.

I've got an XP Pro SP2 with all the updates. It also has the MS AntiSpyware Beta with the latest definitions. Also Symantec 9.0 with 5/4/05 definitions.

I've run Spybot S&D as well as Adaware and CWSSthredder and AboutBuster. I've gotten to the point where MSIE no longer launches on restart, but I can't stop the home page from resetting to about:blank.

I've also noticed that in the Add/Remove programs I have a Home Search Assistant entry. Another oddity is that for some reason the System Retore had been turned off. I'm pretty sure that it was on when the machine was installed a year ago. Does the darned thing turn off System Restore sometimes? I find that hard to believe as two other machines showed up this weekend with the same problem and a System Restore set them right again.

I've attached a copy of my HijackThis log. I'm getting so frazzeled that I don't want to start whacking registry entries w/o some advice. Could someone point out anything that's problematic in the log?

Thanks

P.S. I'm not sure I attached my log properly, so I've also pasted it into this posting.
