Need to get rid of variant of bestfriends.scr worm

Hi,
I just recieved a email that appeared to be from my isp, and when i opened the attachment "email-text.scr" nothing appeared to happen. I rang my isp who imformed me that it was a virus.
Now my comp appears to hav the symptoms of the bestfriends.scr worm - cant open taskmanager or regedit, cant update virus defs.
I hav tried a hijack this log searching for the entries listed that might cause it and couldnt find any.

    First you need to disable System Restore.

    Next download this tool and run it.
    http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxMydoom.exe


    Please run at least two of these online scans.
    Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

    Panda Virus Scan

    Bit Defender

    TrendMicro Housecall

    There will be files that these scans will not remove. Please include that information in your next post.


    Reboot and post a new hijackthis log and the info from your virus scans.
