Something doesn't look right here

A few weeks ago I switched from (2) 80Gb Hitachi SATA drives to (2) 74Gb WD Raptors on my Nvidia RAID that is on my DFI NF4 Ultra-D. My Hitachi drives seemed like they were not getting full benefit and the writes severly dominated the reads and I was hoping a patch or tool would come along to help optomise it. Now that I have hung the 2 Raptors on the Nvidia controller it looks better but the middle of my ATTO's looks weak and unbalanced. Then I ran Sandra and it looked OK but then I looked at the average access time which said "17ms"??? My drive system "feels" like its running well for the most part but these benches just have me stumped.

    Hey Larry ...

are you setting up the array through the bios or windows?
are you booting with os on the array or is it access drives only?
what's your stripe and cluster sizes?

I can run an atto of my single raptor 74gb to compare it to if you like ...I wouldn't mind.

also be sure you aren't folding when you bench with atto unless your controller has an independent proc.

I just did a clean install and it is w/ Windows and bare essentials only. No folding and all non-essential processes sut down. SEt up array in bios and it is the boot drive. stripe/cluster is 16/16.
