help with trojan-spy smitfraud.c

I have been infected with trojan-spy smitfraud.c. I have Win 98SE installed and cannot load Windows in normal or safe mode. I have downloaded the Hijackthis tool but since I can only boot in DOS mode I don't know how to use it. I have booted off of the Norton Anti-virus CD and scanned the entire machine but it finds nothing. Is there anything else I can try before I connect another hard drive, back up as much data as I can and wipe the old one clean? Thanks for any help.

It's doubtful that Smitfraud alone is causing your problems. But that's the only info we have to go on. Delete these files/folder and maybe that will get you somewhere.
