    Wow, those look like fantastic 7200rpm drives!

    Is it just me, or does the 'deskstar' name just turn you off? One of my raptors just bit the dust, and I'm seriously considering these puppies :D. Price is most definatly more reasonable.

    I don't really think it was fair on the reviewer's part to compare two of these hitatchi drives striped to a single raptor. Clearly it's going to whoop it in STR.

    I have several Hitachi Deskstar drives and they have proven to be far more reliable than the WD drives that I have. Then again, so have my Maxtor drives... but you can't fault Hitachi for taking over IBMs harddrive division. also, at the time, the "deathstar" drives were ahead of the game... too bad they weren't though through well enough
