Gigabyte 7vaxp Ultra problems with SATA
Hi,
I have a Gigabyte 7vaxp ultra motherboard, running 3 IDE Hds and 1 SATA hd, which i will be using just for audio stuff (not boot). I installed the SATA less than a week ago, and it was working ok, but i reinstalled windows xp and now it is really not working Ok. When i try to copy large files, it hangs my whole system for 30s to 3min and the comes backs, and keeps this cycle (hangs > ok > hang > ok...). Reading some threads, I discovered that before reinstalling i had one more problem with it, some delayed write thing.
I've read a few threads here about modding bioses and stuff like that but i still haven't come to a conclusion to what REALLY do to make my system behave correctly. Can anyone give me any directions on what to do ?
Thanks,
Ivan Jangoux
