Alright, QCH and I have made plans to have everybody at the SM-LAN 05 here in Chicago on the weekend of July 29th.
Registration fee is $19.99 and includes the following:
Free T-Shirt (XS only)
Free AMD 64-bit processor for the first ten registrants
Free ATI/NVIDIA card of your choice
Free autographed photo of Brian in his Speedo at Lake Michigan
Free 1 year subscription to ManTouch plus 8 hours of personal instruction with John Peters
Plus other great prizes...
The following games will be featured:
BF1942 Mayberry RFD mod with Aunt Bee Deathmatch tournament to be held
Dance, Dance Revolution - 60's mod
Crash Bandiclutch - Warren, MI mod
Halo II - May not be played but buy it anyway (per Prime)
More details to follow...
BTW the July 29th in Warren looks to be an acceptable date. If QCH's is going I'll do everything in my power to be there.
Haha ok. It does make me think twice though... I mean, people are coming from the Chicago area... I'll be in O'Hare at 6PM the 29th... if I could change my return flight to like Detroit->Baltimore a couple days later (more convenient than getting to Detroit from here!) would I be able to get a ride or something? Do I need a computer? (I'll be coming back from study abroad in Beijing)
Chances are you could work something out with somebody from the chicago area.
You would need a computer though.... Although last year some people lent parts like monitors and stuff so that people wouldn't have to drive around with 20" CRTs
If this thing goes July 29th, I'll be heading in Late Wednesday night (the 27th). O'Comic will be by driver... so we will already be there EMT. We COULD bing an extra PC, I have quite a few "laying" around.
We will be in Detroit... sorry for the mis-direction. Priceline is showing a flight from Chicago to Detroit as $66 dollars. Where are you heading after the LAN. We could probably work out something to bring you back to Chicago, if nessecary, on sunday the 31st.
OK, thanks. Once the date (maybe time too) is announced I'll see if I can do this for real. I doubt I'll need to go back to Chicago after the weekend, but thanks for the offer.
I didn't vote, because I can probably make it either date. If I did have a preference it would be for the later weekend, since I'm hoping there will be another 4th of July bash. That would spread them out a little.
