-.,Disappearing Space and .tmps,.-
As of late, my computer has been acting, to say at the very least, wierd.
When I got on my computer, logged onto my account, (I run Windows XP BTW)and let everything load, I noticed that everything was rather...slow, and I heard my tower giving off a sound that is usually does when it is downloading something (Yes, I know my computer that much that I can tell what sounds mean what.), so I go to My computer, and click my Local C Drive, and the memory space reduces itself...8.69 then to 8.67 and so on and so forth.
After a little investigation I find out the file that is doing this, tmp1.tmp, this file doesn't go under that name all of the time, there are LOTS of them, tmp4.tmp, tmpCB.tmp and basically everything alphanumeric. The .tmps are about 200 megs each, and the only thing preventing my space from reaching dangerously low levels is my Norton Antivirus which Auto-Deletes them, which is great..but when this happens, I sorta can't exactly trace the root of the problem...and I'm doubting that even if I can manage to prevent my Norton from deleting it, that I still won't be able to locate it's main source. The files keep coming back BTW, it's like a family of reproducing viruses.
So I do a virus scan with Panda Software, Norton, the works. Nothing. Zip, nada, and other languages of the term nothing.
This is really aggrivating me, and drastically slowing my computer down, if anyone can help. I'd be grateful. Thanks.
