Shows when I boot up, but as soon as I get into windows it doesnt show! At all.

It did when I first installed it, but now it isnt. (it was IDE but I converted it, my HDD is Sata on slot 1, this is on slot 2 and doesnt show anymore)

Anyideas on what I can do here?

Thanks

Wild guess here... You can't convert dvd/cd's to sata. Plug it back into the ide.

    This isnt rocket science.

It worked fine off the ide headers right?

Your using a goofy converter trying to run a dvd off sata (and there is no advantage at all)

It doesnt work now but used to work fine off the ide header right?

    Again....

Plug it back into the ide header. Not sure what else we could advise you to do.

CD ROMS don't work on SATA. Follow tex's advice and put it back.

No, it worked on the ATA Convertor first time and a when I rebooted etc

When everything is hooked up it stopped, and now windows does not show it (but bios and sata options do)

Im gonna keep on playing around, I dont see why it wont work when it was before and other people can do it....

    Ok

When I disconnect the IDE CD/RW and leave my DVDRW connected via ATA, it works. Fine. Ive just test burnt a CD no problems. Reads fine. I am convinced the problem is with windows....
