Using a socketA heatsink on a Socket 423 mobo?

This is a half cooling/half motherboards question, I decided to post here.

Do you remember Socket 423? It's the socket of the very early pentium4 processors with SDram.

I got a friend with a 2Ghz P4 on that socket with overheating problems. Can I use a socketA heatsink instead?

He lives far from me and I would like if there is any chance of success before getting myself there. I have no idea of how the clip and holes on his motherboard are placed.

Thanks in advance.

A standard P4 S478 heatsink should work fine.
