HELP!! I have a virus titled PICTURES.PIF

**SORRY, I'm new here!
I'm delirious because it's 3:30 AM in California and I just got a virus off of AIM and I'm in DIRE need of sleep, but my poor computer is being affected. It messed up my Instant Messenger, and it put an icon on my desktop titled "pictures" which I cannot delete. Other than that, my Norton Anti-Virus was disabled (due to the virus?) and is not working! I've looked around online at ways to help it... and I already have downloaded some program titled AIMFix.exe, and I'm running an online virus checker since Norton Anti-Virus isn't working at the moment.

I've already run AdAware, and quarantined a bunch of files, etc. I'm stuck at this point... about what to do.

Any type of help is welcome. I don't want to come off sounding rude, but please help if you can! Thank you EVERYONE for your time in helping me.

    Hello,heartonmysleeve & Welcome

    Please move HijackThis from the Desktop to a
    folder in C:\Drive like so C:\HJT

    this is where HijackThis will make it's backups if something
    should go wrong. then rerun a scan show new logfile

    *I deleted O4, O9, and O16
    --I'm afraid that the virus is laying "dormant" somewhere on my computer, and will do something crazy.

    *I ran an online system check scan, and was able to remove some viruses. I re-ran it afterwards, and my system came out clean (but I'm not completely sure)

    I was able to delete the pictures icon that had been downloaded onto my desktop (WHEW), but like I said before... I'm still afraid that I have a hidden virus somewhere. I am still unable to run Norton Anti-Virus... so I don't think this virus is completely gone... yet. Is it possible to tell me if my computer is clean? Thanks for your help and time!!!
