AIM virus(es)? sys.exe, mgs.exe?
Hello all.
I seem to have picked up some worm. I've been told I am sending messages over AOL Instant Messenger saying "check this out, is that you?" Sometimes I can see this happening, sometimes it appears to be invisible. In all cases it appears my AIM is being controlled by something other than me with buddy groups and IM windows opening and closing at random.
My regedit, task manager and msconfig all close within two seconds after opening them. I managed to see two suspicious files, sys.exe and mgs.exe in my processes before it closes on me, so I searched my computer and deleted them, but they're back upon restart.
Panda AV and the TrendMicro online scan reveal nothing, as is the same with every anti-spy/malware program i have.
I'm using XP Home with AIM 5.5 with the DeadAIM add-on. Any help would be appreciated.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE
Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist):

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log.
