Trojan.Smitfraud - IE Browser Still Hijacked
Greetings:
My other laptop got hit with the Trojan.html.Smitfraud.c malware. I downloaded, updated and ran the latest AdAware and Spybot programs as instructed in this site's "how to" thread and ran the fixes. After reboot, my original wallpaper is still gone, the false error wallpaper message is gone also and replaced with a blank blue background, and the IE browser is still hijacked. I get an "About:blank" URL, and then when I type a known site (e.g., www.short-media.com), I get a warning that my computer is infected with spyware and I am blocked from the site, and there is a link to another site where I can purchase anti-spyware. My browser is completely hijacked and I can't use it at all. Below is my HiJackThis log...Thanks for any help.
P.S. I saw Buckeye Sam's generic thread on how to deal with this spyware, but as you will see from the log below, I do not have any of the files/entries that Buckeye Sam indicated in his other thread.

Fix those entries then find and delete these files:
C:\WINDOWS\xmllib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\winadvt.dll
Then reboot your computer and post a new log.
